1251 Hodgkiss St, Pittsburgh, PA

1251 Hodgkiss was one of my favorite houses to sell and one where I truly feel that both the seller, buyer and both agents really pulled together to accomplish a goal. This beautiful Four-Square style, brick home is in the North Side area of Pittsburgh.

Lovingly restored by a neighbor, the home was redone entirely. A fresh kitchen, new light fixtures, new roof and HVAC as well as fresh paint, brought the home back to life. You can see from the photos how beautiful the natural light is… and how much care was taken to preserve the architectural details that were salvageable.

That’s one of the things I love about Pittsburgh in general. We have such an eclectic mix of homes from different time periods and such a blend of cultures in the area that many homes have these amazing details like thick woodwork, stained glass, impressive staircases and fireplaces, gingerbread exteriors and natural wood floors that you cannot reproduce today.

OK… back to the story… this home was purchased by a young professional and her son. My seller was a young professional with a son when she moved back to Pittsburgh 20 years ago. She really resonated with the idea of having someone with a similar history live in the home and to enjoy the Marshall Shadeland/Brighton Heights area which includes access to Riverview Park, the Stadiums and Downtown Pittsburgh as well as neighbors who love their neighborhood and who embrace newcomers.

Ideally every transaction would be seamless but that’s rare. In this case, despite some hiccups, we were able, as a team of determined women, to work through everything. Cooperation, determination and staying in the mindset of creating a “win-win” for the seller and the buyer really brought the deal and the dream to fruition and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.

Is “win-win” an important value for you? It is foundational for the Thieroff Team Realty Group.
